My Kids Said They Were Bored...
This afternoon my kids came to me saying they were bored. So I gave them a project...can you hear my devious voice in your head??? I got a bunch of dirty and gross pennies, a bottle of ketchup, some paper towels, 2 toothbrushes and told them to clean those pennies...
The kids had a great time...getting ketchup everywhere... all over their hands, clothes, hair, face, and oh just everywhere....and the pennies got clean...
This is a science project my youngest Kara did in kindergarten...many years ago.(5 to be exact)..
So my kids got to be kids today...cleaning money and they got to keep the other change in the jar.. So far the count is up to over twenty dollars...We're going to put in our "Let's Do Something Fun" account..

I loved this post it brought back a wonderful memory for me .
My Uncle gave my cousin and I this same task when we were around 8 or 9 years old and bored one saturday morning. We never forgot the fun we had and have passed it on to others over the years. My grown son loves to share this with his friends that have kids.
Adults can be really cool people sometimes !
Thank you for sharing.
I hope that lots of readers out there in blog land pass this on for years to come.
Have a blessed weekend.
what i wonderful idea! i'm always hearing "im bored!!" :(
keepin' them busy keeps 'em outta trouble i say! lol
My kids would love you because I always give them "I'm bored" chores like dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, mopping. Hmmm - - maybe next time I'll give them pennies to shine!!!!
This is hysterical and I will use it in the future. I can't wait to see my boys faces when I whip this idea out.
Okay Kelly, in my wildest dreams I could never come up with such a fun boredom buster. Next time my girl is bugging me, (which probably won't be long...LOL) I'm going to remember this and pull out our change container.
Wishing you a blessed week!
That's a great idea! I would have to leave the house though...I can't stand the smell of ketchup!
