I'm A Snoring Maniac

I have to confess right here and now... I am a snoring maniac.. I did not used to be... I used to be a sweet and dainty sleeper and my husband and I would have the most restful nights and we would wake up happy and ready to go...... not any more....

The snoring reared its ugly snort when I was pregnant many many years ago - I had gained about 50 pounds and my snoring not only woke up the husband, the neighbors, the dog.... it woke me up too!!! After I lost that weight - I was back to being my Sleeping Beauty self and all was right with the world..... until....... I gained the weight back... way too much weight and now Sleeping Beauty has been gone for a while and the Ugly Snorting Wicked Snoring Witch is here making everyone's life almost unbearable... Not only do I snore to kingdom come..... I get sleep apnea too! Being overweight can cause such problems.. I have recently bought stock in the companies that supply earplugs and I am making a killing - especially from the purchases in Southern California!!

I am back on track with my diet and I do know over time the snoring will go away... In my quest to quiet the snoring beast I have learned some very disturbing facts about snoring..... Did you know that snoring can be the symptom of a problem called "Obstructive Sleep Apnea"? This is a condition that can cause you to stop breathing several times.... maybe hundreds of times at night and many times you don't even know it...

Obstructive Sleep Apnea has been associated with the following:
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • Heart attacks and/or problems
  • Strokes
  • Excessive sleepiness during the day
  • Weight gain
If you are a snoring machine like me go to the doctor today and find a cure to stop the snoring... Your mate will be happy you did and your dog........

I, too snore as a result of allergies and being over weight. I am trying to get the weight back off, as well.

Oh I find that I snore when I am overly tired and just simply pass out in bed once my head touches the pillow. I also have caught myself doing it when I lay on my back at night.

Good thing I am the one catching it, hubby is just too kind to say anything.
