TOMS Shoes - Bless A Child Today

The other day I was having dinner with a few lady friends and I looked down and saw that my friend was wearing a pair of TOMS Shoes I was very excited to see them on her feet and they are so cute! I asked her if she knew the story about TOMS shoes and she said of course I do - that's why I bought them!!! and for the fact they look good.

TOMS Shoeswas founded by Blake Mycoskie. In 2006, Blake was in Argentina traveling and befriended several children and found that they had no shoes to protect their feet. Many children in developing countries do not have shoes and the large possibility for infection, disease, and even death is a high risk.

Wearing shoes prevents feet from getting cuts and sores where serious bacteria can enter... Another reason for shoes is that many children miss the opportunity to attend school where shoes are required - TOMS Shoesis the chance for a child to live healthy and attend school to better enrich their lives.

TOMS Shoeswas founded on the simple premise: With every pair ofTOMS Shoes you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One...

Since our beginning in May 2006, TOMS has given over 140,000* pairs of shoes to children in need through the purchases of caring customers. Because of your support, TOMS plans to give over 300,000 pairs of shoes to children in need around the world in 2009.

*As of April 2009

Disneyland Premium Passes For Us!

I am having a great time this summer with the kiddos! I told you a while back that I was getting the 3 day hopper pass for Southern California residences.... well I upgraded to the the Porche.. the Mercedes of Disneyland passes.... The one the only Premium Pass with no blackout dates.... yep no blackouts!!

What's great about this is I don't feel pressured to go on everything every time I visit... The first day - we arrived at California Adventure on a Sunday around 3:00 in the afternoon - headed right over to The Tower of Terror and guess how long the wait was??? Fifteen minutes!!!! Not the hour and half I feared.... I thought it was a fluke... total luck but the the next time we went .. fifteen minutes... after the ride we headed over to the main street in California Adventure to get good seats for the Pixar Parade to watch my beautiful niece Lindsey perform as an Incredible Girl... We've seen her twice in the parade this week...

Last Thursday we headed over to Disneyland around 5:30 PM to get seats to watch the new Fantasmic Show near Tom Sawyer's Island.... It was crazy.. people save their spots with towels and blankets around 4:00 PM - I had no idea! We were lucky enough to squeeze between two families and get a good seat on the hot pavement.... The show started at 9:30 PM - crazy but I love to watch people and there are a lot of people to watch.. funny... Oh, I forgot to mention.. my niece, Lindsey is in this show too!! She's an incredible dancer and Disneyland just wants her everywhere!!! This show she was a blue gorilla with a hot pink belly dancing on a raft then later she was a pirate in a sword fight on a Pirate Ship, and last but not least she was Pluto on the big Paddle Wheel boat.... After the show, we watched an explosion in the sky with Disney theme music playing in the background....

Last Sunday we were in California Adventure.. and walked right on the California roller coaster - the big one... no wait.. It is strange that there are many people walking about but not many on the rides... and I think that's just fine!

Send Someone A JibJab Today

One of my most favorite things to do is send JibJab eCards to my friends and family - they are so funny. I'm sure you've seen the ones around Christmas time sponsored by Office Max - where it says to "elf yourself".... You probably did not know that there are lots of reasons to send JibJab eCards - to make someone laugh... say happy birthday.... say something funny using political figures... There are many uses for JibJab eCards

Below are a couple that I have sent in the past - the first was Christmas last year and the one below that is my husband and his dad before we went on a cruise.. it was hard to pick just two - I have lots of them... the strip tease from my husband is definitely a winner... So click on a link or advertisement - there is no obligation... and believe me it's a fun way to show someone you care with a great sense of humor!

Own Your Blog Name

One of the things I did when I first started blogging was create three different names I liked and bought the Internet address from www.GoDaddy.com and I am happy I did. For many reasons - the main reason is I get much more traffic to my blogs and the second reason is that when I tell friends and family about my blogs I only have to say the titles and not the "blog spot" part - it's easier to remember and understand.

When I tell others about my blogs I say come look me up on Kelly's Ideas
or you can find me on Amazing Salvation and last but not least look for me on I've Become My Mother. You may ask why three blogs... and the answer is simple. I have a lot to say on lots of things..... and I like it!

www.GoDaddy.com makes it very easy to own your name for a very low price. I paid $10.19 including tax to own my titles and I have Go Daddy feed to my blog spot...

As many of you know I own a mortgage loan processing business. I tried creating my own web page and it turned out pretty bad. I did not have the knowledge to make it look professional and to get traffic to my site.. I went to www.GoDaddy.com and was able to work with a design team to create what I want and they host it. I bought my name for the site The Contract Processors for $10.19 and paid less than $600 to create and service my site. The great thing is I am getting traffic and I am getting qualified leads and clients...

** Please note - I paid for the rights to the name for one year but I will upgrade it for a much longer time... I like my names and I'm keeping them. You can own your name today - click on any www.GoDaddy.com link and have some fun!

Let's Go To The Library

It has been forever since I had gone to the public library... The other day - I decided to take the kids to the library for some summer time reading.. What was really great was that they had a readers club for my youngest.. For every twenty minutes of reading she gets to fill in a circle.. when all of the circles (5 hours) are filled in she gets a prize... There are three more five (5) hour segments.. and after each segment... yep you guessed it - she gets a prize... after her paper is completed and she has read for twenty hours total.. she gets four Los Angeles (I prefer California) Angel tickets!!!!! Oh the excitement... oh the challenge for my "I hate to read" kid.... the thought of the golden Angel tickets at the end - has given her the motivation she needs....

My teen had a great time looking into all the books - she's my reader.. She had the librarian looking up this and that.... and they were finding all sorts of books... Right now - my kid is into supernatural... dream walking mostly..... not vampires... but more along the lines of mind control..... I can't keep up with her tastes...

I too am an avid reader when I have the time. I have a very wide range of likes... from romantic suspense to true crime... to religion to autobiographies.... I just never know what will interest me this week.. The library also had three gift baskets for adults to win.. and all the adult has to do is yes you guess it.... check out a few books and read.. hmmm - I really like the bath and bed basket......

Kelly's idea #17 - Take your kids or yourself to the library and check out a book.... or two.. Happy reading!

Disneyland 3-Day Hopper - Summer Fun

Disneyland has a great deal this summer for So. Cal. residents (that's me). For $99 per person you get a 3-Day Summer Fun Pass - for both Disneyland AND California Adventure! It you want to go more than 3 days... for an additional $35 per ticket you can upgrade to a season pass! I am so there... I live about thirty minutes or less to Disneyland and because of the very high ticket prices - we hardly ever go... and my niece is a HUGE performer there and I have never seen her.... Okay, Lindsey - Aunt Kelly and cousins are going to see you shine...
What I like about the pass is that - I won't feel like I have to do everything in one day... there are so many things to see and do. I am looking forward to taking my time and enjoying the ambiance..
So come meet me at the Most Magical Place On Earth. For your own tickets click here. Looking forward to seeing you there! Be sure to stop on by the Pixar Parade at California Adventure and say hi to my beautiful niece Lindsey or later go to the new show Fantasmic at Disneyland (Lindsey is in that one too!)...
If you can't go this year - I'll tell Mickey and Minnie "hi" from you!
